The range of colors and how well they work together is terrific. And I like the contrast between the very angular shapes of the pier and the billowy clouds. Nicely seen.
beautiful image here; as GJC says, it's well-composed-- the tones really balance with each other as well. excellent!

@danthro: thanks danthro...i'm using photoshop cs3 and lightroom...first i process the raw format in lightroom to get a basic shot...adj tone, exposure, initial sharpening etc. export as jpg to CS3... 1. reduce size for web (700 px width) 2. change to mode to lab color for sharpening at this size (I use unsharp mask in filters- and sharpen just the lightness channel)...there are other techniques 3. duplicate layer 4. change to soft light in drop down menu...(using the layer panel) 5. add gaussian blur to duplicate layer 6. change mode back to rgb color but do not merge the layers 7. go to background layer and add channel mixer adj layer 8. click on monochrome - decrease blue...add red and green till the total is at 100% ----brings out clouds 9. choose duplicate layer 10. add hue/saturation adj layer and add desired saturation 11. I might add photo filter to warm it up a bit 12. flatten 13. save for web
That's the basic...let me know if you want more info....thanks again:)
