A very beautiful subject captured bautifully! Did you do anything to the blue background? The contrast is delicious (that was the word that popped up to describe the feel of the picture)!

@Sojourner: Thank you Sojourner! the background is affected by 3 overall processes. first there is a duplicate layer that uses soft light (photoshop CS3) and is blurred to give it more richness, there is some vignetting that is added, and the border layer has some dirt smudges to give it more a vintage quality...let me know if you want more info:)
